A cork pad cut to keyboard footprints, from seven dollars fifty, that sits under the board to stop it coupling into a hard desk. Cork does damp vibration, and 4mm is enough to hear on a bare wooden or glass surface. On a desk that already has a cloth mat the difference is much smaller, and a folded deskmat gets you most of it for nothing. Buy it for the tidier look as much as the sound.
